Caterpillar dealer in Tanzania Mantrac, has advised for the use of modern machine in construction. Caterpillar Applications and Systems Specialist for Middle East and Africa, Steven Faucher, stressed on the best way to receive and maintain heavy machines in the mining, construction and quarry industry.
He said the main purpose of the seminar is to allow operators to gain information about their equipment and the degree of support they analyze and compare the information they get.
“The aim of the seminar is to give operators remote access to their equipment data and let them choose the level of support they need to analyze and act on the information they receive.
There are several levels of support, whether they want to perform their own maintenance or have us handle the details,” he said.
He further added that Caterpillar proactively deals with equipment repair and maintenance so as to allow companies to focus on their core duties and business, ensuring optimal fleet availability, performance and lifecycle planning.
A big percentage of those who attended the seminar are construction and mining stakeholder and the seminar was meant to give a benchmark report to inform them about the operation of the machineries and how to utilize them.
In one of the presentations done by Mr Faucher, participants were taught on the best ways to deliver convenient and timely preventive maintenance services so as to help lower the operating costs but at the time increasing equipment availability.
Ephraim Kakwabanga, the Director of Milembe Construction Company in Dar es Salaam and a stakeholder in the construction sector, in a comment emphasized the need for more and frequent training to the local construction companies to increase and enhance their efficiency.
