Peninsula Power Products has close to 50 years history in providing/supplying and maintaining marine diesel engines, but has expanded its list of products to include supply of complete generator sets and servicing. The multi-franchise supplier runs its workshops, spares room, showroom, and offices in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, South Africa. It also runs Port Elizabeth branch in Eastern Cape. The equipped workshops enable them to carry out dyno tests, complete engine overhauling and rebuilding, load testing and general engine servicing.
PenPower’s marine and land-based engines and generator sets are specifically built for the African market and require less maintenance (the VM Motori air cooled engines). Compared to electrical engines, their mechanical engines are less sensitive to sub-standard or contaminated diesel that is common in Africa. This diesel problem has been overcome with the depth filtration fuel cleaning technology offered by the company.
Bruce Lockhart, the Director of PenPower Products advises clients to do regular preventative maintenance & servicing every 250 hours for their diesel gensets and to always clean fuel before use. Customers can also expect basic training on engines and diesel cleaning as an added advantage.
Recently, PenPower Products accomplished an interesting project involving supply and fusion of 8 x 400hp main propulsion diesel engines into four newly built 14m Lee Cats for Servest Marine. These vessels are to be used as offshore crew boats and are stationed at various ports on the Southern African Coast.

The company supplies diesel engines renowned for their lower operating costs, low impact on environment, high performance and durability. PenPower adheres to customer specifications in supplying engines and gensets. In 2009 alone, PenPower sold 30 complete gensets from 40kva to 1000kva.
