The developers of the mega $1 trillion The Line City in Saudi Arabia have recently shared an update of the The Line Project Progress. This project is deemed as the next big step in city living as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pushes on with the construction works of the project to bring forth its success. The Line is basically a huge mirrored skyscraper that is laid on its side running through the desert. Based on different opinions, this project is termed as the natural evolution of humanity or a step headed for a dystopian future.
The project is 105 miles long and 200 meters in width and has been designed in the hopes to be able to accommodate up to 9 million people once it is finished.
The project is expected to come to an end by the year 2030 and the workers are working towards achieving this deadline.
The Line Project Progress Status
The Chief Development Officer of The Line mega project, Denis Hickey, released an update that showed the pictures and videos of the construction works on the project in late February. “As for now, the energy within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is quite incredible,” he stated.
“It is quite clear according to the plan that has been outlined by his Royal Highness and I think everyone has been galvanized within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Indeed, NEOM is the pinnacle of an example of that transition and it is quite exciting to be a part of it,” he added.
Location of the Project
The Line is being constructed in northwestern part of Saudi Arabia; this region is considered as barren. The workers are believed to be working around the clock to ensure the steady progress of the project and Hickey also revealed that work was progressing rapidly.
“Currently, we have done most of the foundation work both literally and figuratively. I think we are ready to go on. In my opinion, I think the establishment of The Line is remarkably unique in terms of both its industrialization and the modularized approach that has been put in place,” Hickey went on.

Scope of the Project
The scope of the project is quite enormous and is being championed by the Crown Prince as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks other alternative ways to shift from its reliance on oil. The Crown Prince expects the project to have been finished by the year 2030, despite the warnings that claim that The Line project could take up to 50 years to build.
The Crown Prince also mad an announcement that NEOM is set to showcase a new way of life in the coming future, as the project will be environment friendly and is expected to run solely on renewable energy.
