Bisat Permanent Power Supply Project’s contract has reportedly been awarded to Galfar by Global integrated energy company, OQ Exploration and Production. As per the terms of the $75 million agreement, the Omani Construction Company will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the development.

The Bisat Permanent Power Supply Project’s location is at Block 60 concession area. It is reported to be one of the most significant oilfield projects, especially in the upstream, sector. A statement from Galfar noted that development works should be complete within 29 months, as per its schedule.

While commenting on the supply project, the Chief Executive of OQ Group said that it is a quantum leap in exploration operations. Talal Hamed al aufi also revealed that the field’s production growth rate marked a milestone. From 5,000 barrels per day in 2019, up to 55,000 barrels per day by 2022.

The Bisat Permanent Power Supply Project  Incorporates Digital Solutions and Modern Technologies

Quite impressively, the Bisat Permanent Power Supply Project targets to treat and process at least 330,000 barrels a day (b/d) of gross reservoir fluids. it will comprise of 300,000 b/d of produced water treatment capacity in addition to 30,000 b/d of crude oil processing capacity.

According to reports, the project will result in an increase in OQ’s share in the total oil production within Oman. This, in turn, represents 13% of the upstream sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country.

As a whole, the oilfield development project strives to reflect OQ’s contribution and commitment towards supporting efforts to maximize the use of natural resources. Moreover, it aims to further enable national companies to manage operations, especially in the oil production as well as exploration sectors.

Additionally, the project aims to achieve the aspirations and objectives of the Oman Vision 2040. As a result, it will include applications of digital solutions alongside modern technologies to enhance the sustainability of operations and resources.
