An agreement has been signed for the construction of two new production lines at the Southern Province Cement Company (SPCC) Jazan Factory. The agreement was signed with China’s Sinoma according to SPCC.
The project’s agreement, worth AED1.21 billion ($330 million) features the building of two new production lines. An official statement noted that the project’s funding will be by a local bank. Moreover, the statement also noted that the facility’s main development works would be completed within 30 months. Quite impressively, each is said to have a total capacity of 5,000 tonnes per day.
An Overview of the Southern Province Cement Company (SPCC) Jazan Factory
Currently, SPCC runs three plants in Tahamah, Bisha, and Jazan. Back in June 2021, the company’s board of directors made the decision to establish a new production line at the Southern Province Cement Company (SPCC) Jazan Factory. Moreover, the decision came right after the completion of technical studies that were carried out.

On a daily basis, the facility strives to reach a production capacity of 10,000 tonnes in total. The project will first begin construction works on Line 3, which is scheduled for completion within 18 months. Thereafter, the project will commence infrastructural works for the second 5000tpd line (Line 4). The second line aims to be completed within 24 months.
As it stands, the Southern Province Cement Company (SPCC) Jazan Factory has a current cement capacity of 2.49Mta and a 1.84 clinker capacity. The facility was the first that SPCC started in October 1981. Thereafter, SPCC built the Bisha Plant and it began production on April 1997.
The Tahamah plant was SPCC’s third cement plant, built in the Al-Aradiah Al-Janoubiah Makah region. Gradually, SPCC targets to replace the current production lines. Thus, the Jazan Factory Production Line Project places a significant role in the company’s ambitious goals.
