A contract has been signed for the 700MW Ar Rass solar power plant in Saudi Arabia. It concerns the supply of Sineng’s 1500V 6.25MW Turnkey Stations and was signed between Sineng Electric and Larsen & Toubro (L&T). The former is a global leading inverter solution supplier while the latter is a multinational EPC contractor, hi-tech manufacturing, and services provider.

Speaking on the contract Wu Qiang said that Sineng Electric will make a concentrated effort to provide support for the project. Additionally, Qiang who is Sineng chairman said they will guarantee the 700MW Ar Rass solar power plant in Saudi Arabia runs smoothly. This he explained will be archived through the provision of high-quality products and services.

“We look forward to mutual trust and win-win partnerships in a bid to create greater value for customers!” concluded Qiang.

Overview of the 700MW Ar Rass solar power plant in Saudi Arabia

The project is being developed within the Qassiim province which is near Ar Rass city at a cost of US$ 450M. ACWA Power owns 40.1% of the project while the Water and Electricity Holding Co (Badeel) owns 20%. The State Power Investment CORP (SPIC) on the other hand owns 39.9% of the entire 700MW Ar Rass solar power plant in Saudi Arabia.

The 700MW Ar Rass solar power plant in Saudi Arabia will utilize bi-facial modules with tracking technology for the generation of electricity. In an effort to ensure reliable operation and security, it will feature safety designs that include forced-air cooling alongside IP65.

Once operational the facility will be able to power approximately 132,000 homes and at the same time offset about 1.5 million tons of emissions per year. Additionally, it will contribute to an increase in return on investment and a lower Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).

Furthermore, 700MW Ar Rass solar power plant in Saudi Arabia will also significantly contribute to the Saudi Vision 2030. Especially by connecting numerous households in central Saudi Arabia with clean energy.
