Inland Port 9, a 1 million-square-foot distribution centre in the Kansas City suburb of Edgerton, has begun construction by Contegra Construction Co. The project is being led by NorthPoint Development and is located within Logistics Park Kansas City (LPKC), a 3,000 acre master planned development that was initiated ten years ago.

The clear height of Inland Port 9 will be 40 feet, with 100 dock doors and four drive through doors. The structure will also contain flexible space for a single or numerous tenants, as well as choices for office space. There are eight make-up air units and exhaust fans in the facility. Furthermore, there will brr 14 high volume, low speed fans providing continuous air circulation. Parking for 479 cars and 352 trailers will be provided.The project will be completed in February 2024.

LPKC is a rail served terminal located about 25 miles south west of downtown Kansas City. The park now comprises around 14.4 million square feet of industrial space and has a total capacity of 30 million square feet. Additionally, the complex is anchored by BNSF Railway’s intermodal facility.

Contegra’s Inland Port 9 will be the company’s second distribution centre at LPKC. At the park, the company previously built an 850,000 square foot project for Northpoint Development.
