The construction of a $100 million mixed-use property known as University Station has begun following a public-private partnership between the City of Hollywood and Housing Trust Group (HTG).
216 workforce housing units, a 635-place parking garage, retail space, and a new location for Barry University College of Nursing and Health Services are all included in the project. Furthermore, all of the apartments in University Station will be set aside for people and families who fall under a range of income brackets. This includes 22, 30, 40, 60, 70, and 80 per cent of the area median income (AMI), with monthly rents ranging from $374 to $1,634.
The three-building construction will be located near the proposed Broward Commuter Rail (BCR) South Station on 2.5 acres of city-owned land. The National Housing Trust Fund, Bank of America, and LIHTC equity from Raymond James are some of the funding sources. Additionally, Broward County and the State of Florida committed debt and public monies to the project.

The Teams Behind University Station Hollywood City
Corwil Architects and general contractor ANF Group Inc. are members of the development team. Further, the civil engineer will be HSQ Group. The structural engineer will be BNI Engineers, and the MEP engineer will be RPJ Inc. Consulting Engineers.
Interior design is being handled by B. Pila Design Studio and landscape design will be handled by Witkin Hults + Partners. Moreover, the interior decorator for Barry University’s area within the development will be Kaller Architecture.
University Station will be completed by HTG in spring 2025. In Broward County, there is a serious lack of affordable housing and an increase in rent. The rise in construction costs has made it harder for developers to produce affordable housing. Hence, state-sponsored financing is essential for these initiatives because of this.
