NMS La Jolla, a mixed-use residential and commercial community complex designed by Steinberg Hart and built by Gilbane Building Company, has finished construction. The completely equipped apartment homes were built by WS Communities, and NMS Residential will be in charge of managing them.
The 17-story, 307,000 SF building has 10 levels of residential units. Additionally, it has five levels of above-grade parking with valet services and a top-floor recreational space.
For an improved experience, tenants of the NMS La Jolla can take advantage of the services on the sixth floor and sky deck, which feature a pool, hot tub, private cabanas, wet and dry saunas, fire pits, barbeques, a fitness center, conference room, full kitchen with a wine fridge, lounge, and panoramic views of all of Los Angeles, including the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory.

In the building’s residential area, there are furnished private suites with numerous bedrooms, private bathrooms, and fridges. Studio, one-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments are available. Furthermore, there are nine-foot ceilings in every unit, a gated access door, in-unit laundry, quartz countertops, and stainless steel appliances.
Additionally, some apartments come with individual workspaces, balconies, and custom queen-size beds. Each apartment and suite features finished interiors created by designers.
More on the NMS La Jolla community
The apartment homes aren’t the only unique attribute NMS La Jolla has to offer. The Los Angeles film and television industries served as inspiration for the high-rise tower’s outside lens-like shape. The irregular, undulating façade adds visual interest and creates an individual experience in each unit.
Further, the convex form of the facade creates view corridors between the larger structures along Wilshire Boulevard, with high ceilings and expansive windows to exhibit various cityscapes.
“Gilbane Building Company is proud to have brought WS Communities and Steinberg Hart’s vision to life. We overcame many challenges, especially during the COVID-19 period, to build this one-of-a-kind building and we are thrilled to see its successful completion,” said Tom Szerlag, Senior Project Executive at Gilbane Building Company.
