DC BLOX, a renowned leader in connected data centers and dark fiber solutions across the Southeastern United States, has recently celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for its cutting-edge data center campus in Douglasville, Georgia. This strategic move marks a significant expansion of DC BLOX’s data center portfolio, positioning it closer to Atlanta and contributing to the region’s growing reputation as a crucial data center hub.

With a considerable capital investment exceeding $1.2 billion, the project is made feasible through substantial tax incentives facilitated by the Elevate Douglas Economic Partnership. This bold step reaffirms DC BLOX’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of emerging market needs.

The campus will also be seamlessly integrated with DC BLOX’s extensive nearly 500-mile dark fiber network, establishing a high-capacity East-to-West fiber route that connects major communication hubs in Atlanta, stretches through Augusta, and ultimately reaches the DC BLOX Cable Landing Station in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This dark fiber network is on track to be completed by Q4 2023.

Mayor Rochelle Robinson expressed her excitement about this development, emphasizing its role in fostering technological innovation, supporting local businesses, and stimulating economic growth within Douglasville.

DC BLOX Data Center Campus in Douglasville first customers move in

The data center campus, meticulously designed to meet the rigorous demands of hyperscale operations, will encompass twelve data halls, providing a total of 750,000 square feet of gross space across 55 acres. The campus has secured a substantial power capacity of 180 MW, with the first customers expected to move in by Q3 2025.

Mark Masi, EVP of Data Center Development at DC BLOX, shared his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the company’s commitment to delivering state-of-the-art data centers that cater to the most stringent hyperscale needs. DC BLOX’s flexibility in design configurations ensures that tenants can customize their space to accommodate advanced AI/ML applications and specific requirements.

For this DC BLOX Data Center campus in Douglasville venture, DC BLOX has teamed up with Evans General Contractors, a prominent Georgia-based Top 100 Contractor known for its expertise in complex technical markets. Corey Lemming, VP of Advanced Technology for Evans, leads the design-build team, leveraging his extensive experience in delivering mission-critical projects for some of the world’s largest technology firms.
