The construction of a 12.37-MW solar carport and energy storage system at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles has begun. Solar Optimum will build the system, while DSD Renewables will develop it. It is most certainly California’s largest single-site commercial energy facility.

The 637,000-square-foot solar carport will be over the primary guest parking lot and team member parking lot. The system should balance all of the park’s energy use. The visitor parking area will have around 30 EV charging stations, as well as a 2-MW, 16-MWh energy storage system.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is the company’s third solar installation. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Northern California and Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey have both established on-site solar capabilities, with over 30 MW of fully functioning solar power systems installed. These three locations will eventually support 42.37 MW of solar capacity.

Six Flags Magic Mountain, Discovery Kingdom, and Great Adventure have all installed on-site solar power installations, totaling more than 30 megawatts.

These sites have the highest significant aggregate onsite Solar PV system volume of any organisation in the United States, totaling 42.37 megawatts.
