Universal Destinations & Experiences recently shared new information, about the theme park, in Frisco including its official name Universal Kids Resort. The theme park will feature captivating areas that celebrate Universals brand of entertainment, humor and fun. It aims to create an experience by bringing characters and stories to life in ways that will truly amaze the youngest guests at the park.

The version unveiled on Friday is not exactly the same as the plan proposed back in January 2023. The parks size is one quarter of the parks, in Orlando intentionally designed to create an intimate and engaging experience for younger guests. In January Universal stated that this theme park would have an appearance, atmosphere and scale compared to their existing parks while still maintaining the quality found in larger resort destinations.

According to the city’s estimations Universal Kids Resort is projected to bring in $200 million, in expenditures for Frisco.

Expected Completion Date for Universal Kids Resort

The Frisco City Council granted approval for Universals use permit for the theme park in March. Following that in November the company initiated construction on this project and they expect to begin vertical construction in early 2024. The Universal Kids Resort project is expected to take about two years. Also the project is expected to generate thousands of jobs including 2,500 new positions within the construction industry.

Universal itself they have assured that additional details will be gradually unveiled over time through updates posted on their website dedicated to sharing information, about their destinations and experiences.

According to Molly Murphy, President of Universal Creative the Universal Kids Resort aims to ignite children’s creativity through imagination, exploration and importantly.

The resort is being meticulously crafted to provide kids and families with an exhilarating experience where they can physically immerse themselves in their stories and characters. Universal Destinations recently announced that this will be their first-ever theme park specifically designed for families, with young children introducing a fresh and innovative approach to storytelling for a younger audience. Additionally the resort will feature a 300 room hotel for families as previously revealed during its unveiling, in January.
