Construction has commenced at RailPort Logistics Mobile with a groundbreaking ceremony held by leaders on October 30th to signify the beginning of the construction at the location in Mobile, Alabama. The RailPort Logistics Mobile in Mobile, spanning over 500 acres has been designated as a Platinum CS Select Site.

To qualify for the Platinum CSK Select Site designation is a demanding process. Involving requirements such, as infrastructure and utility accessibility assessments, environmental evaluations, proper zoning and entitlement verifications, air quality permitting checks, rail service capabilities, proximity to highways or interstates, and other related factors.

Platinum CSK Select Site designation

RailPort Logistics Mobile has now achieved the Platinum CSX Select Site designation making it the fourth location, in Alabama to receive this recognition since 2012. This site is part of a group of 28 properties within CSXโ€™s service area that have successfully met the requirements, for this distinguished title over the course of the programs existence.

CSX provides Select Sites that’re ready for development across its network with land use factors and thorough due diligence addressing essential requirements upfront. These sites cater to different manufacturers by cutting down on construction time for industrial facilities and speeding up product delivery to the market.

Expansions at the Port of Mobile will sparked growth in the area drawing attention. RailPort Logistics Mobile park caters to users seeking railway advantages and close proximity, to the port facilities, conveniently located within three miles of two distinct Interstate 10 interchanges.

In the first phase of development, by Scannell Properties will develop around 390 acres of land. With 149 acres set aside for conservation efforts and the construction of nine industrial buildings planned. Out four of these buildings will have rail service provided by CSX company. Additionally, Scannell properties plans an investment of about $15 million in transportation infrastructure improvements. That will benefit the Todd Acres Industrial Park nearby.
