CCI global which is one of the leading outsourcing firms in Africa, has made an announcement on the opening of a five-story Tatu City Call Center. This brand new facility and Kenya’s Largest Call Center, has been constructed on the back of a US$50 million investment into the BPO industry of Kenya and now stands as the largest call center in the country.

The President of Kenya, His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto attended the ceremony for the commissioning of the facility which was held during the Elevate Africa Conference, an event that was held for three days in Tatu City. The event was based on the theme “The Next Chapter of Innovation, and got to bring together leaders of the industry, the stakeholders and even the policymakers from different parts of the world. During the commissioning ceremony, CCI also made an announcement on creating a second building facility at the Tatu City which is in accordance with the company’s commitment to double the overall workforce of the CCI Kenya’s call center workforce to a remarkable 10,000 employees.

Kenya’s Largest Call Center to Run Entirely on Renewable Energy

This new building facility was developed by GREA as part of ENEO development and will be running entirely on renewable sources of energy. This will be achieved by the installed solar panels, natural air corridors and the self-shading walls that have been installed. Due to these clean energy efforts, this brand new facility has been awarded a couple of awards from African Property Awards and the EDGE Green Building and Sustainability Excellence Associate accreditation for taking responsibility in matters regarding environment conservation.

According to Stephen Jennings who is the founder and CEO of Rendeavour, also both the owner and developer of Tatu City, he stated that with the right and appropriate management, technology, ability of international access, and an enabling ecosystem, the BPO workers in Kenya are able to do well on a global scale.

Additionally, the CEO of CCI Global, Martin Roe, added on by saying that he affirms the prominence of the African region as a top destination for the operations of call centers, Kenya coming out as a top choice for investors. He also commented by saying that the company’s’ decision to expand its operations across Kenya clearly shows their profound confidence in the thriving BPO industry of the country and its overall capacity of enabling sustainable growth.

Significance of the Call Center

This new call center facility in Tatu City is foreseen to generate a total of 5,000 new job opportunities just in the short term. The facility is a part of US$150 million investment in Kenya of CCI Global since the year 2016. Ever since the year 2006, CCI has managed to investment over US$2 billion across the African region.
