The Sun Group led the groundbreaking ceremony for the so-called “Modern City” construction project in Phu Ly City, Ha Nam, on August 8, 2024. Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, the province’s Chairman of the People’s Committee, said it is Ha Nam’s largest urban project to date.
He added that this undertaking brings a new facet to Phu Ly City and will create much-improved living conditions. This will definitely contribute to its goal of becoming a Class 1 urban area by the year 2030. Not only that, but it also hopes to achieve 10 million tourists by the same year with the completion of the project.
Another good thing about this project is its potential as a great investment for those who want to put their money into business due to its prime location. In fact, Ha Nam has recently been nominated as “Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination” and “Asia’s Leading Emerging Tourism Destination” in the 31st World Travel Awards (WTA) for Asia and Oceania. With these developments, the Ha Nam government’s goals are already within arm’s reach.
What Comprises Sun Urban City Ha Nam Project?

This undertaking will comprise eight buildings with nine floors, townhouses, villas, and more than a thousand living amenities. It will also highlight five different parks, namely:
- Cultural Park – This has a total area of 36.7 hectares, over 40% of which is water surface. The park features playgrounds by the lake, an event square, a brewery, and a lot of urban green spaces for rest and recreation that residents and visitors can enjoy.
- Ecological Park – An ideal place for picnic and camping for friends and families, this 13-hectare park offers tranquil green space. It also has a dedicated area for kids to explore their surroundings and environment and develop their skills called Kid Universal Entertainment World.
- Festival Park – This is where all the domestic and international art and festival performances take place. With nine hectares wide and a water surface of 50 meters, this park definitely makes for a vibrant area to either witness spectacles or just a place to spend time away during time off from work or school.
- Sports Park – Not just any other sports park but 22 hectares of land area dedicated to health and fitness. It features state-of-the-art gym equipment, basketball, soccer, and tennis courts, as well as dedicated areas for artificial climbing, running tracks, and yoga. It even has a competition-standard gymnasium with 7,500 seating capacity.
- Sunworld Park – The star of the Sun Urban City, the 19-hectare Sunworld Park boasts a water park that is hugely influenced by Vietnam’s water puppetry culture. It has a wide array of entertainment that caters to both the young ones and the “young once” such as different adventure games, a wave beach, and even an indoor park.
For anyone interested, it will be up for long-term ownership for Vietnamese citizens and 50 years for everybody else. Although the entire project will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2028, apartments can be turned over by as early as June 2025.
