The Dubai Metro Gold Line is a planned urban rail project intended to expand metro connectivity across Dubai and support public transportation capacity in the emirate. The proposed line is expected to connect several residential, commercial, and leisure districts within the city.
Roads and Transport Authority has initiated the procurement process for the project by issuing a request for proposals to firms interested in providing consultancy services. The authority is seeking to appoint a lead consultant for the multi-billion-dollar development, with proposal submissions scheduled to close in May.
According to project information, the Gold Line is planned to begin at Al Ghubaiba in Bur Dubai and will run parallel to the existing Red Line. The proposed route is also expected to extend toward Business Bay, Meydan, Global Village, and residential developments in Dubailand.
The consultancy scope for the project is reported to be similar to the arrangement currently being implemented for the Dubai Metro Blue Line development. As of May 2026, The 30 km Dubai Metro Blue Line is officially scheduled to open on September 9, 2029. It coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro. Primary tunneling and pier construction are actively underway, with the first-ever metro bridge crossing Dubai Creek taking shape. The line will feature 14 stations and serve nine key areas.
