Adani Enterprises and Google have made an announcement revealing a landmark joint venture on Tuesday. According to the company statement, Adani’s joint venture AdaniConneX will help develop the Visakhapatnam AI Data Centre India’s largest AI data centre campus along with new green energy infrastructure that will be located in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam.
Furthermore, the Google AI hub that will be developed in Visakhapatnam represents a multi-faceted investment of approximately USD 15 billion. The Visakhapatnam AI Data Centre data centre project is expected to be developed over five years (2026-2030).

Scope
Also, the project will consist of gigawatt-scale data centre operations. These operations will be supported by a robust subsea cable network and clean energy solutions which are aimed at powering the most demanding AI workloads in India. Additionally, the initiative will be implemented in close collaboration with ecosystem partners which include AdaniConneX and Airtel.
Key pillars of the mega data centre campus project include purpose-built AI data centre infrastructure in Visakhapatnam. These infrastructure will significantly boost compute capacity. Also, the infrastructure will help to drive a generational leap in India’s AI capabilities.
Lastly, the partnership also stresses sustainability, with co-investment in new transmission lines, clean energy generation, and innovative energy storage systems that are in Andhra Pradesh. Furthermore, these initiatives will support the data centre’s operations while enhancing the resilience and capacity of India’s electricity grid.
