The Jabali Towers construction project has entered its construction phase after Tatu City appointed China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) as the main contractor for the 88,000 m² mixed-use development. Located within Tatu Central in the private special economic zone outside Nairobi, the landmark project will deliver high-rise residential, hospitality, office and retail facilities. The appointment marks another milestone in Tatu City’s long-term expansion strategy as it continues developing one of Kenya’s largest privately planned urban communities.
Jabali Towers will become one of the city’s largest vertical developments. Moreover, it reflects sustained investor confidence in integrated mixed-use projects that combine housing, employment and commercial opportunities within a single destination. The development also reinforces Tatu City’s vision of creating a self-sustaining urban centre supported by modern infrastructure and economic activity.
Jabali Towers construction project to deliver landmark mixed-use destination
The Jabali Towers construction project will comprise two residential towers rising 25 and 36 storeys above Tatu Central. Together, they will accommodate modern apartments, a hotel, offices, retail outlets and restaurants within one integrated development.
Furthermore, the project will include a 150-room hotel, Grade A office space and 35 retail and restaurant units. Meanwhile, the residential component will offer studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments designed for both homeowners and investors.
Apartment prices start from KSh9.7 million. According to Tatu City, the market has responded strongly, with Tower A already 75% sold before major construction activities accelerate.
The developer expects the project to create more than 2,000 jobs during construction and later operations. Employment opportunities will span hospitality, office management, retail businesses, restaurants and property management after completion.
Importantly, Jabali Towers will benefit from infrastructure already established across Tatu City during the past 15 years. Internal roads, reliable water supply, electricity networks and fibre-optic internet are already operational, allowing the project to integrate quickly into the existing urban environment.
Stephen Jennings, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rendeavour, the owner and developer of Tatu City, said the company carefully selects partners capable of delivering world-class developments.
“We go to great lengths to source partners and suppliers locally and from around the world who share our uncompromising standards of execution. Jabali Towers is another step in building a city that delivers lasting value for Kenya and for generations to come,” Jennings said.
Jabali Towers construction project strengthens Tatu City’s long-term expansion
The appointment of CRBC adds another significant development to the contractor’s growing Kenyan portfolio. Besides Jabali Towers, the company is undertaking the construction of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Talanta Sports Stadium and several other major public infrastructure projects across the country.
For Tatu City, the project represents another phase of a broader expansion programme that continues transforming the 5,000-acre mixed-use city. The developer is simultaneously expanding residential neighborhoods, commercial facilities and education infrastructure to accommodate future population growth.
Among the upcoming developments is Wellington College International Kenya, which is scheduled to open in 2028. The developer also plans to open the Tatu Wildlife Sanctuary later this year, further enhancing recreational and environmental amenities within the city.
These investments support Tatu City’s strategy of providing integrated live-work-play environments. Consequently, residents and businesses gain access to education, employment, retail services and leisure facilities without depending heavily on central Nairobi.
Jabali Towers construction project supports Kenya’s modern urban development
Tatu City has grown into one of Kenya’s largest privately developed urban projects. Today, it accommodates more than 7,000 residents and hosts over 110 businesses operating across different sectors.
The developer also reports that about 3,500 homes have either been completed or remain under development. Furthermore, the city’s daytime population now exceeds 35,000 people as employees, residents, students and visitors continue increasing.
The Jabali Towers construction project will strengthen this growth by introducing additional residential capacity alongside hospitality, commercial and retail facilities. Its integrated design also supports sustainable urban planning by concentrating multiple services within a single development.
As construction progresses, the project is expected to reinforce Tatu City’s position as one of East Africa’s leading privately developed mixed-use cities while creating employment, attracting investment and expanding high-quality commercial and residential space in Kenya.
