Eolus and Hydro Rein’s Stor-Skälsjön wind farm project in Sweden
Located in Sundsvall and Timrå municipalities in northern Sweden, plans were to have the wind turbine supply Telenor. The telecom infrastructure provider signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement with Hydro Energi. This is according to Hydro Rein, a leading provider of renewable energy to industrials.

To join the ranks of other wind energy projects across Europe in supplying the electricity grid, Eolus and Hydro Rein’s Stor-Skälsjön wind farm in Sweden will also address the needs of the locals.
Alongside the awarding of community grants to the locals since last year, an estimate of 160,000 homes in the northern Sweden location will also benefit from the farm’s renewable energy generation. Regarding the grants, a local school and community center have so far been among the inaugural recipients. According to Eolus, these will be distributed annually for the entire lifespan of the wind farm.
The 2024 to 2025 construction completion delay
According to official sources in Eolus, after construction activities broke-ground in 2022, and Svevia got to the digging, hauling, and all entails of construction, technical issues arose. These have so far been tied to a supplier. This is what brought about the delay and pushed the completion and commissioning date for Eolus and Hydro Rein’s Stor-Skälsjön wind farm from 2024 to 2025.
Svevia also handled the installation of crane sites, foundations, roads, and power grids for the renewable wind energy project in Sweden.
