The Centralidade do Halaval community and housing project was opened on Friday, May 13, in the presence of Angola’s President, Joo Lourenço, government Ministers, and a prominent delegation of Mitrelli Group and Kora, its subsidiary firm, led by Mitrelli’s president and founder, Haim Taib.

Scope of the Centralidade do Halaval community and housing project

The Centralidade do Halaval community and housing project was designed as part of the National Urbanism and Housing Program (PNUH) for the general welfare of Angola’s rising population. The government sought to give more than just a solution to its residents’ shelter requirements, realizing that national security and prosperity are inextricably related to caring for its people’s well-being. Kora, Mitrelli Group’s real estate and urbanism company that has established a unique strategy for developing urban communities, was chosen by the Angolan government to carry out this enormous undertaking.

In addition to more than 3,000 dwelling units, the Centralidade do Halaval community and housing project was meant to create a new way of life for more than 20,000 residents, who will have increased access to key services like education, health, security, and a network of internal and exterior infrastructures available to the community. The PIMS (Multisectoral Integration Program) program will accompany the new inhabitants with social assistance to facilitate the cultural adjustment into their new homes and community, resulting in a higher quality of life and a brighter future for their families.

A high-level team from Mitrelli Group, led by founder and president Haim Taib, visited the Centrality of Bucula in the Bengo province on Wednesday, among other projects, with the goal of delivering new meaningful initiatives. Kora plans to complete another housing project with around 1,000 houses in the second half of 2022.
