Cfield‘s Maldron Hotel London Shoreditch is underway with the Irish contractor ready to construct the 10-storey hotel in Shoreditch, east London.
The €88m (£75m)-turnover company is building the 149-room for Dublin-based Dalata Hotel Group under its Maldron Hotel brand, located on Paul Street.
Planning were earlier given by Hackney Council for the construction in 2019 including a condition on drainage plan for the site being set up.
The council had also referred the project’s plans to the mayor of London for possible ruling on contradicting the city’s climate change and transport policy basis . However, concerns over these were settled between the developer and the council hence the mayor declined to intervene. Last month, the local authority signed off the sites’ drainage plan.
Cfield’s Maldron Hotel London is the eighth new hotels from the developer’s current plan, with three others being planned or under way in Manchester, Liverpool with two and Brighton and Glasgow with one each. According to the mother company Dalata Hotel Group, the development cost is of around £60m. The construction will be expected to complete by the second half of 2023.
