Construction of a new hospital, the Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace, British Columbia has begun. The CAD$ 622.6 million facility will have 78 hospital beds, more than twice the size of the current facility, and private rooms. The facility will have two trauma bays, four operating rooms, six stretcher bays and the latest imaging equipment. Northern Health will work with local and regional First Nations to ensure the hospital is welcoming and culturally safe. The new Mills Memorial Hospital will serve as the level 3 inpatient trauma and surgery center in the Northwest Region, providing immediate examination, resuscitation, surgery and intensive care to injured persons. stabilized, they must be transported to another location.
