AC Hotel Clayton in the St. Louis suburb of Clayton is set for construction following a groundbreaking ceremony carried out by Midas Construction.

The project involves restoring a historically significant, underutilized location that had held the Clayton Police’s former headquarters. The project was initially expected to start in March 2020. However, this plan was interrupted by the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Clayton was extremely badly impacted by the epidemic. This is because a large portion of our sales tax revenue comes from the hospitality industry. For a year or more, our hotels and restaurants were simply empty. We’re still having a hard time recovering from that” said Sam Koplar, president of Koplar Properties.

Koplar Properties is one of the firms that make up the AC Hotel Clayton project team. Others are HomeBase Partners and Concord Hospitality as well as the DLR Group, which designed the development.

Early 2024 is the projected completion date of the AC Hotel Clayton project.

Features and amenities of the AC Hotel Clayton

The US$ 50M hotel will have a total of 207 rooms and climb 11 floors. It will include a variety of distinguishing features. This includes the on-site restaurant’s AC Kitchen and the AC Lounge. Guests may mingle and interact while savoring craft beer, hand-crafted cocktails, and tapas-style small meals.

The rooftop bar and restaurant, which will be the sole establishment of its sort in Clayton, will provide cozy seating and breathtaking views. Additional features include complimentary Wi-Fi in meeting rooms and guest rooms and flexible event spaces with outstanding views of the St. Louis skyline.

Amenities are provided by the Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty Program, and 207 well-appointed rooms with modern furnishings, carefully chosen artwork, and intuitive technology uplift and connect visitors.

Clayton Mayor Michelle Harris said at the hotel, “Places like this, organizations like this, are really tremendous shot in the arm for that and we’re really appreciative.
