A HiFAB modular plant is currently under construction in Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, Texas, which will produce a line of Haciendas homes. Once again, Oaxaca Interests is collaborating with its long-time partner, Lake | Flato Architecture firm on another housing project. However, these modular houses will be built exclusively for the Texas market and will cost as low as $249,000.

Furthermore, consumers will observe the construction work at the HiFAB modular plant from start to finish and make modifications to their homes. HiFAB founder Brent Jackson said their plant would produce two-bedroom and three-bedroom modular homes.

The modular plant is located on a 7-acre property in Grand Prairie. The site consists of a 42,500-square-foot factory floor, office spaces, and supply chain storage buildings. HiFAB’s new plant will be operational by January end. Although customers can now order both home model types, the developers mentioned that the deliveries are scheduled for early 2023.

The two home types offered at the HiFAB modular plant will be available in three different layouts. In other words, the prefab home buildings will come with customizable tiles, paint colors, and other finishes. The two-bedroom/two-bath home will be built as a studio, while the three-bedroom/two-bath version will be more family-friendly. However, the studio’s prices will start at $249,000 and the standard family version will start at $375,000. These costs are expected to cost design, assembly, on-site delivery, and set-up.

Lake|Flato’s project architect, Grace Boudewyns, said the homes from the HiFAB modular plant are designed to encourage outdoor living. Although the buildings were designed as stand-alone structures, they still provide residents with front patios and other outdoor spaces. Thereby, enhancing the indoor and outdoor living experience, while also creating a sense of community among the haciendas’ neighbors

The developer is aiming at producing up to 300 homes annually at the new HiFAB modular plant. All homes will include sustainable features such as UV light air purification and fresh air exchange systems. In addition, the designs also incorporate VOC-free paints and tiling materials which are Greenguard Gold certified.
