The construction of the first ever Electric Vehicle (EV) Assembly Facility in Abu Dhabi is set to commence soon. This is in light of an agreement signed between KIZAD or the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi and NWTN, a green mobility technology company based in the UAE.Â
As per the agreement, NWTN will operate the manufacturing, research, and development facility. Spans a total area of 25,000 meters squared, the facility will feature vehicle testing and logistics. The first phase aims to have an annual capacity that ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 units. These will be semi-knocked-down (SDK) electric vehicle units.
The second phase on the other hand will introduce an array of new models of electric vehicles. Additionally, the second phase will aim to expand its capacity to a total of 50,000 units, annually.
