Galliford Try’s Building North East and Yorkshire business has been selected to build a brand-new £65m JDR Cable Systems manufacturing unit in Blyth, Northumberland.

A new 46,000 sqm factory will be built to help JDR broaden its product portfolio. Construction will also help respond to the growing global offshore renewable energy market. Consequently, it will add high-voltage export and long-length array cables to JDR’s existing capacity and product capabilities.

The project represents a significant investment in the North East on the site of the former Blyth power station. Furthermore, it develops Galliford Try’s reputation. This is in providing high-quality manufacturing facilities for clients such as Rolls Royce and Quorn.
