A contract for the construction of two Port Harcourt flyovers and road projects has been signed between Rivers State Government and Julius Berger Nigeria Plc. The latter is Nigeria’s premier and most dependable engineering construction company.
Accordingi to the contract, the flyovers will be built at the Rumuokuta-and NTA-Choba Road Obia Akpo LGA, and they will take 10 months to complete. The Port Harcourt’s Azikiwe Street and Iloabuchi Road will also be converted into a dual carriage ways within a span of 6 months.
The Port Harcourt flyovers and road projects contract signing witnesses
Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, presided over the contract signing event, which was held at the Council Chambers of Government House Port Harcourt. The State’s Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Dame Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, attended the ceremony as well. The ceremony at Port Harcourt was also attended by honorable members of the Rivers State Executive Council, the Speaker and members of the Rivers State Assembly, Elders, Chiefs, and senior civil workers.
At the ceremony, Governor Wike praised the State’s leaders for their assistance to his administration. He also gave Julius Berger, the State’s trusty infrastructure development partner, praise for its consistent project delivery, and exceptional quality.

Julius Berger Plc remarks on the award and the project
The managing director of Julius Berger Plc, Engr. Dr. Lars Richter, on the other hand, stated that the engineering construction firm had previously successfully delivered six flyovers. These flyovers, according to Richter, have already been commissioned by the government of Rivers State. They will not only benefit the Rivers people but all Nigerians at large.
While congratulating Governor Wike on the completion and commissioning of the previous projects, Dr. Richter, on behalf of the Board and Executive Management of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, expressed confidence that the Port Harcourt flyovers and road projects would also be completed to the usual high standards, the Julius Berger standard, and on schedule as agreed.
