Jordan Industrial Port Expansion Projectthat aims to raise the port’s annual capacity has officially been inaugurated by King Abdullah.

The King was given an official tour of the port  in the compnay of Bisher Khasawneh, the Prime Minister as they listened to a presentation of the goals as well as economic contributions of the Jordan Industrial Ports Company (JIPC).

The Jordan Industrial Port Expansion Project Aims For Double Capacity Upgrade 

The project the cost of which is approximately JD145 million is developed by the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company and the Arab Potash Company. The Chairman to the Jordan Industrial Ports Company, Maen Nsour revealed that the project’s plans included the expansion of storage capacity as well as the expanding of production and the industrial facilities of the port.

According to a statement from the Royal Court, the upon completion, the project which is in line with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision, is expected to raise the port’s capacity from five million tonnes to ten million tonnes, an impressive doubled capacity upgrade.

In addition to working towards bolstering exports, there are also ongoing talks with potential investors to begin exporting hydrogen and ammonia as well as re-export raw building materials to neighboring countries.
