Plans are underway for the construction of a Cutlery Manufacturing Facility in Leander. Cangshan Cutlery Company announced its plans to open its first United States manufacturing facility, which could provide as many as 300 jobs upon completion. They also intend to move their headquarters from California to Leander after executing this project.

Located at 204 Heritage Grove Road in North Leander, near the Texas Bullion Depository, the Cutlery Manufacturing Facility in Leander will occupy about 400,000 square feet on 41 acres of land, making it one of the city’s largest real estate impressions to be seen. The ground-breaking ceremony is slated for early next year, with the completion and commissioning of the facility targeted within a two year period.

The planned facility is aimed at producing premium cutlery in the United States and it will feature a state-of-the-art production area with maximum capability as well as, sales and marketing units. Office and administrative spaces have also been added to the plan of the building.

Cangshan Cutlery will be investing at least $40 million for modifications and for the deployment of equipment to facilitate the construction of their Cutlery Manufacturing Facility in Leander. This cost also includes the permanent jobs which will be provided by the company as well. The city of Leander plans to support this project through tax rebates and reimbursements for road modifications up to a tune of $1.6 million.

The Cutlery Manufacturing Facility in Leander is one the projects geared towards keeping the developmental growth in the area going. At the moment, there are also other developments in Leander such as the 115-acre Northline project poised to bring residential and office spaces to the area, the 32-acre 29 Gateway project aimed at providing luxury homes and commercial spaces to the area, and the 50-acre Monarch units aimed at providing recreational spaces along with cottage-styled homes. Cangshan’s Cutlery project will be the first manufacturing facility of that size to be located in Leander.  

Henry Liu, Casnhang Cutlery founder in a statement said he was excited about bringing the idea of a premium, made in America Cutlery Manufacturing Facility to the town of Leander, Texas.
