Construction has begun on HonorHealth Prasada, a new state-of-the-art health care facility in Surprise. The groundbreaking took place recently at the southeast corner of the Loop 303 and Waddell Road, which is adjacent to new restaurant developments and a new Costco on Waddell Road.

Anchor Health Properties is building this new hybrid health care facility through its partnership with Intuitive Health. The HonorHealth Prasada facility will be its first project in the Phoenix market which is intended to offer emergency room services and an urgent care model.

Development plans show that the new health care facility is intended to provide upto 12,000 square feet of combined ER and urgent care space, equipped with X-ray and CT scan capabilities, and also features a trauma room and exam suites. The estimated cost of the project is about  $6.5 million and it is expected to be completed by early 2022.

Construction on HonorHealth Prasada is being handled by the general contractor, JE Dunn and according to Larry Hawthorne, the vice president of the company. HonorHealth Prasada is expected to become operational by April 1 of next year.

Hawthorne said, “As a leader in healthcare construction, we value partnership, innovation and teamwork. We are proud to partner with Anchor Health Properties, Intuitive Health and HonorHealth to bring this innovative new facility to the community of Surprise.”

Hawthorne pointed out that a lot of building was going on around Loop 303, but at the moment there is still limited access to healthcare facilities around the area. He said that adding the HonorHealth Prasada facility off Loop 303 in Surprise, would provide residents with closer access to health care services.

According to Hawthorne, some of the major benefits of introducing this health facility to the Loop 303 area include eliminating the need for patients to self-diagnose the severity of their health conditions, accessibility to health services without having to drive a long distance and helping to lower out-of-pocket costs.

A second hybrid ER and urgent care facility is to be developed, following the completion of the HonorHealth Prasada. JE Dunn has been selected again as the general contractor for the upcoming project which has been planned for Scottsdale, Arizona.

  1. I also have been in the Honor Health for years. I moved to Surprise, AZ four months ago and would love to find a Doctor in this system, but am having trouble finding one close by. Any suggestions would be a big help.

  2. I have been with Honor Health for years and am only minutes away from the new Prasada facility. Is this new location only for emergency health needs or will it offer a family practice physician(s), something that is sorely needed in the area since there are many emergency/urgent facilities in the area now?
