Newly constructed brick factory in Cameroon launched

A brick production factory has been inaugurated in Cameroon, Nkolbisson-based brick production plant; one of the factories of the Local Material Promotion Authority. The Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, Madeleine Tchuente confirmed the news with satisfaction at the output of the brick factory in Cameroon .

The Minister visited the brick factory in Cameroon as part of her tour of research institutions under her supervision. It also came at a time MIPROMALO was on an awareness campaign with Open Door-days organized to sensitize the citizens on latest innovations in local construction and decorative material.

Brick factory

The plant has a capacity of producing approximately 20,000 bricks daily including smaller bricks which are thinner in forms of tiles for decoration. Tchuente was shown around the production unit with the XDG boxy closing machine, a crusher, auto firing machine, mixer, extruder, vertical bar adobe cutter and a horizontal bar which has the ability of producing bricks of different dimensions which differ with those used for walls and some still for walls varying from  40x20x12cm, 23,5×11,5x9cm, 20x9x9cm, 40x20x20cm.

“In 2015, over 1,050 people procured local materials for various construction projects. Customers come from all over the country with some coming from the northern part and this obviously shows the interest Cameroonians have in the local material,” the General Manager of MIPROMALO, Uphie Chinje Melo, pointed out.

The newly constructed brick factory in Cameroon is a good initiative of encouraging locals to be part of development in the country and apart from that the market will eventually attract investors.

MIPROMALO is currently working on a project in Douala in the Littoral Region with an estimated production of 300 tonnes of bricks daily, their products comprise of  compressed earth blocks, fired clay bricks, dimension stones, refractory bricks, Granite concrete floor tiles, pottery and fine ceramics and wood drying using solar energy.
