Construction works for phase 1 of the Al Nakheel Residential Project, located in Al Rumais, a region that links the wilayat of Barka to the Muscat governorate in Oman, are set to begin this year. 

This came to light following a recent ceremony held to officially tlaunch the project. The cerremony was attended by the Minister of Heritage and Tourism, members of the Board of Directors of Towell Group, a partner to ALARGRAN Towell Investment Company as well as a primary investor of the project.

The CEO and Vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of ALARGAN International Real Estate Company alongside the CEO of the project were also in attendance. The launch was all held under the patronage of HE Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi.

Al Nakheel residential project implementation and features

Construction works for the first phase of the Al Nakheel residential project will include a crystal lagoon with recreational facilities, a traditional souk, and internal roads as well as other infrastructure. Construction works will also include the construction of a four-star hotel with 188 keys.

The entire project, spread over an area of 500,000 square meters, will feature well about 1,436 townhouses, villas, and residential apartments for ownership to both expatriates and citizens, as well an 830-meter waterfront that overlooks the sea of Oman. It will also include an international school, a shopping mall, a variety of specialty restaurants, other entertainment and service facilities as well as an aqua park.

The Al Nakheel residential project is expected to be completed within a span of 10-15 years.

Boost to the regional and domestic tourism industry

During the event, Salim stated that the project aligns with the ministry’s plans to build a diversified tourism sector that will meet and exceed the needs, expectations as well as requirements of the regional and domestic tourism industry. Â
