Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete has opened a ‘key road in Tanzania whose construction was sponsored by Kuwait government’s Fund for Arab Economic Development.
During the opening ceremony of marking the main road in Tanzania Mr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete expressed his gratitude to Kuwait for road infrastructure support.
Kikwete took a lot of time to give thanks to Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah his Highness of kuwaitt for his generosity and kindness for Kuwait’s contribution for the construction of the key road in Tanzania.
Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) loaned Tanzania $ 47.7 million for the project. John Magufuli the Tanzanian Minister of Transport and communication also thanked the Arabian country for funding construction of a major road in Tanzania.
Kikwete expressed confidence that the cooperation between Tanzania and Kuwait will continue for the benefit of the two frienly nations.
Jassem Al-Najem the Kuweiti ambassador said in a statement that Kuwait was happy to cooperate with Tanzania and that the construction of the road in Tanzania is meant to boost trade in the country.
Tanzania was first given a loan in 1975 by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED). The fund’s scheme in African countries has reached 12, worth $ 205 billion, in addition to some technical aid.
