Asan Medical Center, one of the largest medical facilities in South Korea, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi-based Scope Investments, is building the UAE’s first “Gastroenterology” specialty hospital on a 21,150 square meter site at Dubai Healthcare City.
Developed in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority, the 65-bed facility will consist of seven floors above ground and two below ground and will be equipped with the latest facilities, equipment, technology and digital solutions and the best specialists and doctors with international experience.
Construction of the first Asan Medical Center outside of Korea is expected to begin soon and be completed in 2026.
Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, director-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, praised the Korean group for its strategic project and said it has become a privileged and attractive place for investment.

“Upon completion, the hospital will begin providing a range of diagnostic services and offer specialized treatment for gastrointestinal cancers, including gastric, colon and pancreatic cancers, as well as liver transplants and morbidly obese patients,” he added.
