The purported end user behind the $1bn Project Clydesdale data center in Tulsa County, Oklahoma have been revealed to be Google. The massive data center project has been under construction in the county since last year. However, the owner behind the development remained shrouded in mystery, until now. Google asserted that it is behind the project, a 506-acre data center campus in unincorporated Tulsa County.

The area is also located just west of Owasso and next to Cherokee Industrial Park. Beale infrastructure has been the developer behind the project, officially breaking ground in October 2025. “This project is far more than an infrastructure investment; it is a long-term commitment to Tulsa County’s future,” stated Trystine Payfer, Google’s Public Affairs Manager for Oklahoma. The firm also noted it has invested more than $15 billion in Oklahoma since 2011. Moreover, its 2025 investments and technology supported $2.6 billion in economic activity for the state.

The implementation of Project Clydesdale data center in Oklahoma is one that Google notes is benefiting many. “This isn’t just 100, 200 direct jobs,” explained Stacy Smith, the Vice President of Business Development for the Tulsa Regional Chamber. “This is an ecosystem of activity and additional jobs that’s going to follow.” Google also said it has contributed more than $2 million in the Tulsa area over the last two years toward workforce and community efforts. It also stated it plans to include workforce training with the electrical training ALLIANCE that will add more than 160 apprentices in Oklahoma by 2030.

The project will also include a new onsite substation funded by Beale and infrastructure upgrades, including new water lines. Tulsa County Commissioner Stan Sallee said the announcement that Google is behind the project is a major boost for northeast Oklahoma. “Very exciting that it’s Google,” said Sallee. “We anticipated it was one of the top four companies, but to have Google announced as the end user is a tremendous boost to northeast Oklahoma.”
