Solar power plants in Nigeria

Sterling and Wilson have announced plans to construct 250MW of solar power plants in Nigeria in the next 2-3 years. The projects will be developed by the well-renowned international Solar Project Developers who have recently signed PPAs with the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc.

To offers its turnkey EPC solutions for their proposed projects in Nigeria, Sterling and Wilson are currently engaged in advanced discussions with the developers. Sterling and Wilson was established in 2011 and is currently a multi-division multinational company with a strong local presence in the Nigerian market given that the company also has its office in Lagos.

Currently, the company has already commissioned more than 40MW of gas based power plant and has been as well a regular Diesel Generators supplier to many local companies in Nigeria. The company has also developed local capabilities to enable the company execute solar power plants in Nigeria adding up to 250MW of generation capacity.

Besides being a pioneer company in Turnkey MEP and Solar EPC services, the company also has strong presence in Latin America, South East Asia, Middle East and across Africa, with projects of 87MW in South Africa, 175 MW in Morocco and 260 MW in Egypt. The 7 MW project in Niger is already in the pipeline. The company’s largest solar PV plant is in operation in South Africa generating 90MW of power.

The company has over 3000 technically skilled people working in India and abroad with a key strength of executing projects at international levels.
