KOYO Corporation, a Japanese renewable energy company has opened an office in Tanzania. The Corporation is spreading its footprints to the African continent and the new office is known by the name KOYO Bussan Tanzania Ltd.

KOYO’s arrival in Tanzania complements the efforts invested by the government of Tanzania to increase access to power and encourage use of renewable energy both in urban centres as well as in the rural areas.

On the 21.10.2016, KOYO officially launched its services during a grand ceremony that was held in Dar es Salaam. In attendance at the ceremony were high profile government officials and businessmen.

According to Tomokazu Hirayama, KOYO Managing Director, the corporation brings the state of art technology in renewable energy ensuring affordable access of energy for both commercial and residential purposes.

Hirayama added that, the company’s guiding philosophy is integrity and focusing on prioritizing their customers’ needs as well as delivering the best services at affordable rates.

Additionally, KOYO has plans to set up a solar panel assembly plant in Da-es-Salaam, whereby the plant is expected to create employment opportunities besides increasing the country’s investment and government revenue.

“These activities go hand in hand with our company sloga, ‘Bringing light to the Africa, electrification,” said Ibeanusi Ebuka Emmanuel, KOYO Manager.

KOYO also eyes the gas sector to provide clean energy that will help to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Nonetheless, besides being the leading service provider, KOYO also aims to create employment for the youth and allow transfer of technology and capacity to develop the sector, this will further boost the government efforts to utilize the country’s natural resources for the development of Tanazania.

KOYO was also among the participants of the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI) summit that was held on the 27th-28th August 2016 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi Kenya.

TICAD VI was marked as the first African development conference held in Africa since its inception in 1993.

KOYO Bussan Tanzania Ltd is a subsidiary of KOYO Corporation that is headquartered in a Japanese multi-sector company that covers clean and renewable energy, energy saving solutions such as LED lights, batteries and wind mills.

The corporation also covers the infrastructure sector and deals in natural disaster emergency response among other things.
