The brand new METRONET Midland Station Project development in Australia has officially received approval for its construction works. The project strives to become a dynamic regional centre and contribute to efficient transportation.

The multi-storey car park and bus interchange development is a part of Midland’s development program. The new station will relocate as well as replace Midland’s existing train station, alongside associated parking areas and the bus interchange.

In a nutshell, the METRONET Midland Station Project will feature a brand new 12-stand bus interchange. It will also include new pedestrian and cycling routes to access the station. Furthermore, the multi-storey car park will include well over 800 bays.

METRONET Midland Station project to incorporate sustainable design principals

While commenting on the project, the Western Australia Transport Minister said that the station targets to improve connection to the existing retail areas. Rita Saffioti, further noted that the project’s approval marks a significant milestone, not just for the project but transport infrastructure as well.

In addition to the delivery of high-quality development to the city, the station will continue to serve the railway’s central role within the area.

Michelle Roberts, Midland MLA also expressed excitement over the progress approval and overall progress. She said, as it will transform the heart of the region, the METRONET Midland Station Project will also continue the revitalization of Midland.

Moreover, the development program on its own will include a world-class health, urban village, and educational hub. Additionally, it will also feature high-quality transit links, courtesy of about $1 billion of private sector and government investment.

According to an official statement, construction works for the METRONET Midland Station Project will commence by 2025. Quite impressively, it is reported to incorporate sustainable design principles and will reflect the region’s Aboriginal culture.
