We thank everyone who made this happen!

Completion date

Construction to start this month by Meta, and the data center should be functional in 2026.

The renderings hint that Meta has abandoned its previous H-shaped two building plan , which may be due to the AI emphasis. Turner has become the construction partner for this project and will use prefabricated modular assemblies during construction.

Indiana state governor Eric Holcomb stated: “Today is a good day for our southeast region and the Hoosiers as another major investment arrives at River Ridge Commerce Center. The efforts to foster future industries are already bringing positive changes such as data storage, semiconductors, energy ,and electric vehicles.” It’s great to have Meta here in Indiana and we are looking forward to the company becoming a partner with us as Jeffersonville and southeast region of Indiana continues its growth.”

Scope

The project will have more than 1,200 onsite construction staff during development and create up to 100 permanent jobs once operations commence.

Meta has received a 35-year data center sales tax exclusion from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation for at least $800 million in eligible capital. If the company makes an additional $800 million of eligible investment at the site within that time period, it is exempt from tax for another five years and so on up till 50 year. According to reports, the city of Jeffersonville and the River Ridge Development Authority have provided additional incentives.

“Speaking on behalf of the residents in Jeffersonville, I am thrilled to finally announce that our community has Meta,” stated Mayor Mike Moore. ‘Sitting patiently for a mega company transpired into this 619-acre site being saved by River Ridge and with its investment and commitment towards it proves how effective such saving is.’ The economic activity surrounding this new data center will benefit every part of our economy and we thank all those who have helped to secure Meta in Jeffersonville.
