Designe plans for the Bally’s Chicago Casino Complex in River West have been approved. The approval was given by the Chicago Department of Planning and Development. This confirms the original plan for the US$1.7 billion building to start construction in late 2024.
The entertainment centre will be the first urban casino. It will have 3,400 slot machines and 173 table games in addition to 10 restaurants and bars. Additionally, a 3,000-seat theatre, event space, 20,000 square feet of exhibition and museum space will be featured at the development.

Moreover, the Bally’s Chicago Casino Complex in River West will comprise a 500-room hotel tower t the site’s northernmost point. More than 10 acres of outdoor space, including a park for the neighbourhood with diverse outdoor events planned for the site, will complement the complex’s interior spaces.
The project team
Bally has provided a detailed description of the development team. The ownership group is composed of Bally’s Corporation and minority-owner Community Investment Programs. The master plan is being directed by architects Solomon Cordwell Buenz in association with V3 Companies, Gensler, and Site Design Group.
With the exception of the hotel tower, which will be designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, Gensler has taken over the complex’s architecture. The interior design of the theatre will be led by STL Architects, the interior design of the casino will be led by SOSH Architects, and the landscape architect will be Site Design Group.
Local firms UrbanWorks and Nia Architects are collaborating as affiliated architects. Magnusson Klemencic Associates and Milhouse Engineering will handle structural engineering, Environmental Systems Design and Milhouse Engineering will handle MEP engineering, while V3 Companies will oversee civil engineering and site infrastructure.
The owner has DMA, Rider Levett Bucknall, and BRG Consulting Ltd. as project development advisors. The project’s general contractor will be Chicago Community Builders Collective.

Bally’s Chicago can start building as planned in the latter half of 2024 because the city has approved the site plan. They must adhere to all legal and regulatory criteria set forth by the Illinois Gaming Board before beginning gaming operations.
