Vestas, a global leader in sustainable energy solutions, has clinched a substantial project in Austria, solidifying its position as a key player in the wind energy sector. The company has received a firm order from Windpark Engelhartstetten GmbH, a subsidiary of WindLandKraft GmbH, for the Engelhartstetten wind park located in Lower Austria. This project signifies a significant milestone in Austria’s renewable energy landscape.
The order comprises 11 V136-4.2 MW wind turbines, and it encompasses the entire project lifecycle, including the supply, delivery, and commissioning of these state-of-the-art turbines. Vestas has further committed to ensuring the long-term performance of the wind farm by providing comprehensive servicing under a 25-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement.
Christoph Manseder, Lead Director Sales for Austria at Vestas, expressed his enthusiasm, characterizing Windpark Engelhartstetten as a substantial project for the Austrian market. He emphasized that this endeavor aligns with Austria’s energy transition strategy and highlights the significance of privately developed wind projects within the framework of the Austrian Renewable Energy Act. Manseder also conveyed gratitude to their customer for placing trust in Vestas’ technology.

Clemens Regehr, Managing Director at WindLandKraft GmbH, echoed this sentiment, expressing pride in their collaboration with Vestas. He noted their eagerness to expand their wind turbine portfolio with an additional eleven turbines following the successful construction and commissioning phase.
Project Timeline
Delivery of the wind turbines is anticipated to commence in the third quarter of 2024, with the commissioning phase slated for completion in the fourth quarter of the same year. Vestas, with a track record of installing over 169 GW of wind turbines in 88 countries, stands as a global partner in sustainable energy solutions.
