The DC BLOX Atlanta East data center campus is a hyperscale development located in Conyers, Rockdale County, Georgia, roughly 24 miles east of downtown Atlanta. Rockdale County now records it as the county’s only approved data center campus, planned for seven buildings, after commissioners adopted a 180 day moratorium on new data center applications in January 2026 and extended it in May.
Federal Wetlands Review Sets the DC BLOX Conyers Campus Schedule
Site preparation began in September 2024. The remaining constraint is federal: Georgia EPD ran public comment on an Army Corps permit covering 52.84 acres and three buildings of 40 MW each, with permit dependent work possible from October 2026. County consent now governs timing nationally, as the Fluidstack campus in Cameron County, Texas also demonstrates.

Reported 13th December 2023: DC BLOX, a leading provider of connected data centers and dark fiber solutions in southeast, has acquired 72 acres of land in Conyers, GA to develop a state-of-the-art, 750,000 square foot hyperscale data center campus. The site, located in Rockdale County just 24 miles from downtown Atlanta, will initially house a 160,000 square foot facility for a major hyperscale anchor tenant, with additional capacity for more clients. Completion is expected by Q4 2025.
DC BLOX is working with partners like Evans General Contractors, DLB Associates, Corgan, Thomas & Hutton, and Bennett & Pless on the planning, design and construction of the new facility. The company has incorporated feedback from local government and economic development leaders in Conyers and Rockdale County to ensure the project fits community needs.
Georgia Power set to supply electricity to the upcoming DC BLOX campus
To meet the massive and growing demand for data center capacity in the Southeast, driven by factors like hyperscaler growth and AI/ML adoption, the new DC BLOX campus in Conyers will harness 216MW of power supplied by Georgia Power. The site offers room for future expansion as needs evolve.
In conjunction with the data center development, DC BLOX plans to build a dark fiber network ring around Metro Atlanta. This will not only massively boost data capacity for campus tenants, but also connect to DC BLOX’s existing subsea cable landing station in Myrtle Beach, SC. This will give clients enhanced global connectivity and resilience.
The Development Authority of Rockdale County and Conyers Rockdale Economic Development Council (CREDC) have actively supported incentives to attract DC BLOX. Officials praised the investment for advancing economic growth and tech ecosystem goals for the region. The project is expected to spur additional development.
