Local news channels in Houston note that construction on several projects are either underway or set to begin in August. The firm is associated with pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Company’s planned 236-acre manufacturing site. Moreover, this is according to a series of July 16 fillings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Construction on the work included in the filings is projected to be completed by the end of 2027. However, Lilly representatives say the overall project remains on track to be completed by 2030.

“Lilly Houston remains on track and is progressing as planned against its previously announced timeline,” a Lilly spokesperson confirmed in a July 23 emailed statement. “We will continue to provide updates as they become available.” Another major project is the CS PowerTech solar cell facility in Indiana. This facility is reported to be the first in the US designed to produce heterojunction (HJT) bifacial N-type solar cells, according to the company. It is also expected to play a key role in developing a domestic supply chain for solar technology.

The site at Generation Park will manufacture Orforglipron, an investigational, once-daily oral GLP-1 medication being studied for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes and obesity. This is according to a Sept. 23 news release. The firm announced its plans to build a $6.5 billion manufacturing facility at Generation Park at a news conference held in September 2025. Moreover, they noted the project would bring 615 jobs to the area, including positions for engineers, scientists and lab technicians. Officials also said they expect to create 4,000 construction jobs in the area as the site build takes off. For every dollar Lilly spends in the area, the company estimates up to an additional $4 in local economic stimulation.
