Peab has been commissioned to construct the data center FIN04A in Kouvola. The customer is atNorth and the order is valued at EUR 130 million, which is equivalent to SEK 1,440 million.

Scope

The project entails the construction of a new data center building and related construction and infrastructure work. Furthermore, the data center must meet high demands on accessibility, energy efficiency and reliable technology.

Moreover, this project showcases Finland’s efforts to develop computing infrastructure. Foreign companies such as Google are also gearing up efforts to develop data centers in the country. Additionally, such projects are expected to impact positively Finland’s digital economy and create jobs during construction and operational phases.

Timeline

The project has already begun and is expected to be finished in the summer of 2027.

Additionally, the project will be order registered in business area Construction in the second quarter 2026.

Power Capacity: Initial operational phase brings 30 MW to 60 MW of immediate power online, with a fully approved campus trajectory scaled up to 430 MW (plus additional pathing for future expansions).

Connectivity: Carrier-neutral facility hosting multiple independent fiber providers. Also, it features dual diverse fiber entry points and two dedicated Meet-Me Rooms (MMRs) delivering ultra-low latency (less than 18 milliseconds) to major European digital hubs.
