Construction has commenced on One Canal, a Premier Life Science Research Center in East Cambridge, Massachusetts. Breakthrough Properties are the principal developers for the project and have been backed by Tishman Speyer and Bellco Capital.

One Canal will be a four-story structure with more than 105,000 square feet of lab and office space. It will also have a lounge on the ground level and exclusive outdoor areas. In addition, there is also a concierge for the building, a fitness centre, nearby parking, and on-site shopping opportunities.

Moreover, the site is near to a variety of housing, shopping, and dining options in Downtown Boston. Furthermore, it is accessible by foot from a number of parks and open areas, including the Charles River. Noteworthy, the development is close to the 4.5 million square foot Cambridge Crossing innovation hub. The projected 650,000 square foot Cambridge Galleria shopping centre is also in close proximity to the One Canal.

One Canal to provide businesses with unbeatable environment and in-demand facilities

The project is strategically located along the First Street corridor facing Canal Park. The First Street corridor runs from Kendall Square/MIT Redline to the new Lechmere Green Line T station. One Canal will, therefore, provide businesses with an unbeatable environment surrounded by a neighborhood full of amenities.

We are happy to be providing top-tier life science space to this environment of limited availability in order to assist the advancement of discoveries that might change people’s lives,” explained D’Orazi.

Tishman Speyer Managing Director Jessica Hughes, on the other hand said, “One Canal answers to the tremendous need for cutting-edge research spaces placed in dynamic neighborhoods where today’s best talent wants to be.”
