Construction has broken ground on The Farmstead, a senior living community in West Michigan, led by Resthaven. The development is coming on almost 40 acres of undeveloped land located close to Van Raalte Park.

The Farmstead be a brand-new campus for independent and assisted living that will serve the larger Holland neighborhood. It will offer a serene, quiet environment with plenty of options for relaxation, activities, and forming new friendships. This is because it is surrounded by nature and walking paths.

The vast land may support several types of residences, including single-family homes, duplexes, and apartment complexes. All homes have open, accessible floor layouts and a modern, expansive style. There is also the choice of private rooms in the nearby assisted living and memory care facility. Residents may rest easy knowing that they will always have access to Resthaven’s continuum of care, regardless of which housing choice they select.

There are still a few flats available, despite the fact that all the freestanding homes have been reserved. Those who want to reserve a spot are urged to get in touch with Resthaven immediately once. Since the beginning of 2019, The Farmstead has been under design and planning. The epidemic halted project development, but demand for The Farmstead’s new units remained high.

The project is being developed by THW Design, an architecture firm located in Atlanta, Georgia. The project’s construction manager will be EV Construction. Over the following 18 months, EV expects to employ hundreds of local people in the building phase.

“Seniors in Holland desire to be actively involved in their community, and this was quite evident to us. The Farmstead was created in direct response to our community’s need for more independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Resthaven has spent more than 75 years providing care for the elderly, and we are thrilled that The Farmstead will support us in continuing this work,” Deedre Vriesman, the CEO and President of Resthaven said.
