Located in Lusail, a city developed in Qatar, on the coast, in the southern part of the municipality of Al Daayen, the Qetaifan Island North (QIN) is a project for the development of an innovative entertainment destination. 

According to Mustafa Al Cherkawi, the projects construction engineer, QIN comprises a state-of-the-art waterpark that will have an entrance fee, a linear canal, and a beach club, both food & beverage outlets, and luxurious hotels, as well as a residential community. 

Currently, the Qetaifan Icon Tower stands at 85 meters and holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s tallest water slide. The Icon Tower will operate with 2 hanging swimming pools on 6 different levels and 12 rides.

There will also be three water taxis available, providing transportation to the different parts of Doha from the Linear Canal which is 1.2 kilometers long. A Mexican Village adjacent to the Island’s Beach Club will also be present.

Qetaifan Island North to accommodate at least 15,000 football fans in the incoming World Cup competitions 

With the FIFA World Cup set to be hosted in Qatar this year, the Qetaifan Island North which is reportedly designed and arranged to offer the best and ultimate enjoyment is expected to become the fan zone, especially for football enthusiasts and spectators arriving for the grand event. 

With over 4,000 tents of varying types as well as a VIP tent, the project, the implementation of which is currently ongoing is expected to accommodate at least 15,000 football fans owing to its location approximately two and a half kilometers from the venue that will facilitate the World Cup Final, Lucille Stadium.

The fan zone will also include travel facilities to the location from all the World Cup stadiums present in the country.Â
