An EPC contract has been awarded for the implementation of the second phase of the Fujairah port desalination plant project in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The engineering, procurement, and construction contracts were awarded by Fujairah Fresh Water Production Co. Ltd. (FFWP) to Metito.
FFWP is a producer and supplier of fresh water to ships in the Port of Fujairah and companies across the emirate. Metito, on the other hand, is a global leader and provider of choice for total intelligent water management solutions. It has operations in three business areas which are design and build, utilities, and specialty chemicals.
The scope of the Fujairah port desalination plant projects EPC contract
The contract’s scope of work features the building of the second phase of the desalination plant. Furthermore, the facility aims to reach a production capacity of 3,500 meters cubed in a day. Additionally, the company will interconnect the second phase, seamlessly with the existing facilities.
Thereafter, the facility will be in a better position to efficiently meet the ever-growing demand for potable water. Impressively, the project will significantly propel businesses across the region. More so, towards the expansion of their commercial footprints, on both a local and an international scale.
The Chairman Engineer of Fujairah Fresh Water Productions Co spoke about the project. Khamis Alnoon said that the port’s development serves to become a strategic location. Of which will feature world-class facilities. Furthermore, the Fujairah Port Desalination Plant Project aims to meet the diverse as well as exciting demands of the future.
The Chairman engineer further added that the company is beyond pleased to work with Metro on the project’s second phase. On the other hand, the Managing Director of Metito also spoke on the project. Fady Juez said that the Fujairah port is one of the most important ports in the Middle East. Furthermore, the project will enable the region in becoming a world-class multipurpose hub.
