The Carnation Solar Project is a proposed 142 megawatt (MW) solar development to be located in Amanda Township, Fairfield County, Ohio. The Carnation Solar Project is being developed by Geronimo Power in partnership with local landowners and will span approximately 1,700 acres.

Construction of the facility is scheduled to commence as early as 2026. The Carnation Solar Project is scheduled to be in service as early as 2027.

Currently Carnation Solar is focused on engaging the local community. If the project gains approval by the end of 2025, construction could start as early as the spring of 2026 and last through the end of 2027. The project would likely start producing electricity in late 2027 or early 2028.

Geronimo Power is a major player in the development of solar and wind power as well as energy storage in the USA. Other projects that have recently come online in Ohio are the 120MW Ross and 47.5MW Fayette Solar Projects. The projects joined the Yellowbud Solar project marking Geronimo Power’s growing renewable energy footprint in the region.

Other Projects

Another significant project being worked on by Geronimo Power is the Dodson Creek Solar Project in Highland County, Ohio.

Geronimo Power has commenced operations at its 117MW Dodson Creek solar project located in Highland County, Ohio. The facility is set to provide electricity and also contribute approximately $49 million to the local economy. Furthermore, it is situated within the PJM market. During its peak construction phase, Dodson Creek employed 125 construction workers. Kiewit Power Constructors oversee the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the project.

Furthermore, he noted, “Kiewit is proud to have successfully delivered this project and to support Ohio’s clean energy future and long-term economic growth.”
