Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa in Dubai set for refurbishment

The Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa in Dubai is set for refurbishment. This came to light following an announcement that a contract for the implementation of the project was awarded.

The contract was awarded to Khansaheb Interiors a leading construction and facilities management company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The company is also the longest-standing contractor in the Western Asian country.

According to the contract, the firm will carry out a full refurbishment of the entire desert resort. This will include all the 105 guestrooms, as well as the 10 suites. Additionally, all of the restaurants, meeting rooms, public areas, and bar/lounges alongside the reception will also receive an upgrade. The contract’s scope of work also includes the replacement of all fittings, furniture, and equipment (FFE).

Impressively, the project’s works have begun with completion set for early 2023. Currently, the resort has been temporarily closed for renovation.

The Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Spa in Dubai was originally built in 2004 and expanded in 2006 by Khansaheb Interiors. It is owned by Meydan and managed by Kerzner International.

The Managing Director at Khansaheb Civil Engineerings spoke about the project. Steve Flint expressed delight with the refurbishment project. Moreover, he noted that the project is yet another great opportunity to demonstrate the value that they provide. As it stands, the firm has successfully delivered several hotel refit projects within Dubai. These include their most recent projects like the Movenpick Bur Dubai and Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The General Manager of Khansaheb Interiors also commented on the project. Ross Trivett said that they look forward to working collaboratively with the project’s consultant and client team over the next coming months. Furthermore, Ross affirmed that they aim to deliver a guest experience that is enhanced and of a truly unique nature.
